Andrew Thatcher is one of our regular speakers. He has travelled extensively in Latin America over the past ten years: escaping the cold English winter and learning Spanish in various language schools.
He writes a much viewed travel blog and lectures to Rotary and U3A groups on diverse subjects of history.
The April talk follows in the footsteps of the Spanish conquistadores as they capture the territories of the Aztec, Mayan and finally Inca empires: in Mexico and Peru. And then we will look at these places today- as a tourist- viewing the extraordinary ruins left of these great civilisations.
