Play Reading 2 is a friendly and welcoming group. We take turns to host the meetings in our homes (where space allows). During each session we read a complete play, usually 2 or 3 Acts, and have a tea break at a suitable point. The host provides tea, cake and biscuits, and we each pay a nominal contribution towards this.
The play sets are borrowed through local libraries, with group members helping with the selection, suggesting a particular play or playwright. The cost of borrowing the play sets is met by u3a.
The maximum number for the group is 12, and currently there is a small waiting list. We would like to encourage more men to join this group to help balance out reading the male characters. As we meet in members’ homes; unfortunately, we cannot increase the size of the group.
